The Drury University Band is full of amazing people. Originally I was on the fence about joining, but everyone was super welcoming and kind to me. We all love playing music and we get to play some pretty fun songs together. It’s just such a fun experience and I’m so glad I joined!
The reason I joined band was to meet new people. I love having a social outlet were myself and others all have common interests. I am most excited about playing bass clarinet more and hopefully learning new music!!
The marching band, unlike many high school bands, is laid back and easygoing. Everyone here is here to have fun playing, marching, or spending time with awesome people. Not a music major? No problem! I’m not, and it still one of the highlights of the day!
I joined the band because I loved marching band in high school, I can't forget that pre-performance feeling I always got before a show. I am incredibly excited to continue that experience at Drury, and play to the best of my abilities!

As a commuter during these times, the Drury University Band has provided an outlet in which I have been able to establish relationships. My favorite thing about the band is I can have a rough day and go to rehearsal and forget everything going on outside of music and have a grand time with the individuals distanced around me!

I wanted to continue marching and I'm excited to be apart of Drury's first marching band!
My favorite thing about band is when we all come together and play our music with the full band. I like hearing how the music sounds all together after we have all worked on it in sectionals. Another thing I like about marching band is the community. Everyone is friendly and wants to have fun!
I loved color guard in high school and I was so excited that it was being offered for me to continue that passion!
I’ve really found a new family through the band program. Everyone is extremely supportive and I feel more energetic every time I leave!
